As you can guess by the spoiler-y title I’m going to discuss the crime, mystery, and thriller books that I purchased over the last six months of 2019. Yes, some of these books have been sitting in a pile on the floor in my office for eighteen months. What can I say? I’m a chronic procrastinator.
On Wednesday evening, I reached the end of the first act of my cozy mystery short story, Entitled to Murder. Yay! And, I’m excited to share with you, a revised draft of chapter ten. You’re one chapter away from a big plot reveal. But, don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you.
I’m tearing myself away from writing my cozy mystery short story, Entitled to Murder to share chapter eight, straight off the presses. Well technically, there are no presses. But, you get it, I’ve just finished revising and editing the chapter, and I’m a little over-excited. In other news, I made a minor addition to the ebook’s cover art because I’ve decided to make Tiberius, the grey English Shorthair cat a regular character in the series.
Here it is the seventh chapter of my cozy mystery short story titled, Entitled to Murder. Originally, this chapter contained two scenes, but I realised as I reached the end of the scene that you’re about to read, this needed to be it’s own chapter. At the moment, there are three chapters until I reach the end of act one. I am hoping to keep sharing chapters regularly on this blog. Hopefully, I won’t hit a writing snag that requires substantial research. Fingers crossed.

As you can guess by the spoiler-y title I’m going to discuss 13 crime, mystery, suspense and thriller novels featuring characters who are journalists. I’ve decided to divide this episode up into two parts, the first is “books I want to read” and the second is “books I’ve read.”
As suggested by the title, I’m going to dive into the depths of my Kindle app and share with you the mystery and thriller novels that are lurking and waiting to be read by me. Don’t worry; I’ve managed to narrow this list down to twelve books. While I’m talking about my Kindle app, I will also get a bit nerdy and discuss my organisational habits with you.
During August, I decided to devote much of my time to preparing my debut crime thriller novel, Missing for publication. So that meant, revising my fourth draft and preparing the manuscript for editing. At present, I’m eight books behind schedule. In the spirit of reading and getting back on track in this episode of the Thriller Novel Nerd Podcast, I’m going to share with you exactly what’s on my TBR list.
