Travel Vlog | Follow Me Around Paris
Hello, Book Lovers!
This year I wanted to do something different with my blog. I wanted to give you a quick and honest look at the behind-the-scenes of the life of an author.
As an author who lives in London, I have Europe practically on my doorstep. I do spend quite a few days every year travelling around Europe and the USA. And, this is what inspired me to start this Follow me around series on my new YouTube channel.
The first Travel Vlog in the series is, Follow me around Futuroscope. In this second episode, I’d love to invite you to follow me around Paris.
Paris in December
I know this is going to sound cliche but, Paris is one of my favourite cities in Europe. There is something beautiful about Paris, every time I go there I leave wishing I could stay a little longer. Paris is certainly not perfect, and it does have a not so glamorous side. However, I can’t seem to keep away. Roland and I arrived in Paris on December 29, 2016, after our Christmas break in Poitiers with family and we spent a few days wandering around the city and enjoying the super cold weather. It did snow for a second, but it didn’t settle.
A Boutique Hotel
We stayed at the beautiful Hôtel Le Sénat which is situated in the Saint-Germain des Prés in the 6th arrondissement near Jardin du Luxembourg and the Pantheon. The streets in this area of Paris are narrow and lined with beautiful buildings.
Pizza, Cold Weather + New Years Eve
Roland and I arrived in the afternoon after catching a train from Poitiers to Paris. The journey took one hour and ninety minutes because the trains in France are high speed. Upon our arrival, after the usual tedious check-in procedure was over we hit the streets of Paris to find a restaurant for new years eve, then spent the evening eating pizza in the Latin quarter in a cute restaurant called Margherita. It was at this point that the temperature dropped below three degrees Celsius or 37 degrees Fahrenheit. As an Australian, I love the idea of winter but in reality, I loathe it and tend to stay indoors, and this is where the Vlog ends.
I hope you enjoyed this follow me around Paris style Vlog and keep your eyes peeled for day two.
Happy reading, book lovers!
